Purpose

This policy outlines the proper care and handling procedures for vacuum packed mattresses to ensure their longevity, performance, and user satisfaction. Furthermore, it highlights the potential risks associated with improper storage, particularly rolling and prolonged storage exceeding three months.

Proper Care and Handling

  1. Unpacking Procedure:
    – Carefully remove the vacuum-packed mattress from its packaging.

– Place the mattress on a flat, stable surface in the desired location for use.

  1. Expansion Time:

– Allow the mattress to expand fully to its original size. This process typically takes 24 to 72 hours, depending on the mattress type and environmental conditions.

  1. Use of Tools:

– Avoid using sharp objects or tools during unpacking to prevent accidental damage to the mattress.

  1. Airing Out:

– It is recommended to allow the mattress to air out for a few hours to disperse any odours that may have accumulated during packaging.

  1. Maintenance:

– Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for regular maintenance, including rotating the mattress periodically to ensure even wear and prolong its lifespan.

Storage Guidelines

  1. Avoid Rolling:

– Do not attempt to re-roll the vacuum-packed mattress for storage purposes. Rolling without the correct equipment may cause damage to the mattress structure and compromise its integrity.

  1. Storage Duration:

– If storage is necessary, avoid storing the mattress in its compressed state for more than three months. Prolonged compression can affect the mattress’s quality and performance.

  1. Storage Conditions:

– Store the mattress in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

  1. Protection:

– Use a mattress storage bag or cover to protect the mattress from dust, dirt, and potential damage while in storage.
